Online Applications & Status

The application fee is not refundable * and cannot be used to apply for another credential type. Payment must be made using a Visa or MasterCard (debit or credit card) with a billing address within the United States.

Please be sure your application is complete and you qualify for the document requested.

Certificate of Clearance (COC)
For individuals seeking clearance for entry into a public school setting (student teaching or practicum). The COC is verification that you have completed the Commission's fingerprint process.

If an approved program sponsor has initiated a Certificate of Clearance on your behalf, proceed to "Complete My Recommendation" below.

Activity Supervisor Clearance Certificate (ASCC)
For individuals seeking clearance to work in public schools (for specific non-teaching positions). The ASCC is verification that you have cleared the Commission's professional fitness review process.

Application for California Credential, Certificate, or Permit
This is an online alternative to the paper application process for credential, certificate, and permit titles for applicants prepared In-State, Out-of-State and Out-of-Country who do not require an agency recommendation.

Recommendations
For students enrolled in and being recommended by a California college/university education program or those being processed by a California school district/county office. (If your recommendation is not available for completion, please contact your program sponsor for additional guidance)

Renewals
Renew your existing credential(s) or permit.






* The application fee is considered earned upon receipt and is not refundable. Individuals shall receive either a credential (viewable online at www.ctc.ca.gov) or an evaluation listing the requirements which have not been met for the requested credential. Once requirements are met and the application is resubmitted, a new fee will be required. Your application and fee will remain valid for sixty (60) days. If it has been determined that you do not qualify for the credential type originally requested, the fee cannot be used to apply for another credential type.
