Online Direct Application Process
This process may be used for sixteen types of permits, certificates or credentials. It has three steps: verifying qualifications by reviewing requirements, completing and paying for the application and submitting all supporting materials by mail.
To assure you can use this process, 1) check for recommendations by a Commission-authorized agency which would make this application unnecessary and 2) review information about fingerprint clearance requirements [PDF] for all applicants. Individuals who need to use fingerprint cards or renew a credential should not use this process.

30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit (day-to-day substitute teaching)
Activity Supervisor Clearance Certificate
Administrative Services Credential (administrators including principal and superintendents)
Certificate of Clearance (Entrance to Educator Preparation Program)
Certificate of Completion of Staff Development (teaching English learners)
Clinical or Rehabilitative Services Credential (Audiology and Orientation & Mobility)
Crosscultural, Language and Academic Development Certificate (teaching English learners)
Education Specialist Instruction Credential (special education)
Multiple Subject Teaching Credential (elementary general education)
Pupil Personnel Services Credential (school counseling, social work, psychology, and child welfare & attendance)
School Nurse Services Credential
Single Subject Teaching Credential (middle/secondary general education)
Specialist Instruction Credential (agriculture specialist)
Specialist Instruction Credential (reading specialist)

The process involves three steps:

- select your situation/preparation path
- select credential title
- review and print requirements checklist for that credential, permit, or certificate title
- once all requirements in the checklist are met, continue to Online Direct Application

- select credential, permit, or certificate title
- complete professional conduct questionnaire
- make nonrefundable payment
- print Online Direct Application Coversheet

|
- gather and mail all required supporting materials including the checklist itself and Online Direct Application Cover Sheet to the Commission in one package
