ADDING TEACHING OR SUBJECT AREAS
California Education Code, Section 44225(e) and Title 5, California Code of Regulations, Section 80499 allow a teacher to obtain an additional teaching credential without completing the full professional preparation program for that credential. SUPPLEMENTARY & SUBJECT MATTER AUTHORIZATIONS
Holders of valid teaching credentials may add supplementary and subject matter authorizations to an existing credential by verifying completion of additional coursework or a degree major in the subject(s) to be named on the credential. EXTENDING THE TERM OF YOUR CREDENTIAL
If you will not complete all the requirements to obtain the clear credential by time the five-year preliminary credential expires, you may qualify for an extension of the credential on an appeal basis. Use the link below for more information:
