FAQ - Emergency Permits

I would like to try teaching before I enroll in a teaching program. How do I apply for a permit?
Emergency Permits are only available at the request of an employer, with the exception of the 30 Day Substitute, Career Substitute, and Prospective Substitute Permits. Applicants may not apply directly to the Commission for a long-term emergency permit.

Can an individual be employed in more than one district on an emergency permit?
Yes, an individual can be employed in more than one school district. Both school districts will be listed on the permit. If the application is initially submitted with both of the employer's requests there is only one fee. If the individual adds or changes districts during the valid period of the permit, half of the current processing fee is required.
