FAQ - Administrative Services Credentials
I passed the SLLA exam but have not obtained employment as an Administrator, what credential can I apply for?
The Commission will issue a Certificate of Eligibility to candidates who have completed the requirements for the Preliminary Administrative Services but have not received an offer for an administrator's level of employment. The Certificate of Eligibility verifies completion of all requirements for the preliminary credential and authorizes the holder to seek employment as an administrator.
I have an expired Preliminary Administrative Services Credential. How do I apply for an extension?
Administrators who hold a Preliminary Administrative Services Credential and need additional time to complete program requirements, may request a one-year extension to provide sufficient time to complete renewal requirements. You can download and complete the application [PDF] (form 41-4) and mail it with the current processing fee to the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing, P.O. Box 944270, Sacramento, CA 94244-2700. Please be sure to mark "APPEAL" at the top of your completed application.
I renewed my prerequisite credential using the online renewal process. Will my Preliminary Administrative Services credential be automatically renewed?
No. You must apply for the renewal of your Preliminary Administrative Services Credential by mail by submitting a completed renewal application [PDF] and the current processing fee to the Commission office. Preliminary Administrative Services Credentials cannot be renewed online.
