David Pearson, Chair Caleb Cheung, Vice Chair Paula Cordeiro Margaret Gaston Guillermo Gomez Loretta Whitson Action Approval of the October 2007 Executive Committee Minutes 1A The Committee will consider approval of the minutes of the October 2007 meeting of the Executive Committee.   Action Proposed Revision to the Commission Policy Manual √ Listen 1B The Executive Committee will take action to recommend revisions to the Commission Policy Manual to change the current interview process for applicants to the Commission’s two statutory committees: the Committee of Credentials and the Committee on Accreditation. The new process will utilize an ad hoc interview committee appointed by the Chair which will made recommendations to the Commission.   General Session will convene immediately following Executive Committee P. Part I brings forward the recommendation from stakeholders to add two additional program standards to the Fifth Year of Study Program. This report, developed by the Special Education Work Group, examines the structure and requirements of the Education Specialist and other related services credentials and makes proposed recommendations for consideration by the Commission.   Information Report on the Pilot SB 2042 Preparation to Teach English Learners Study    • Agenda Item 3F -- Appendix      Posted 11-8-2007 3F This agenda item presents information from the pilot SB 2042 Preparation to Teach English Learners Study conducted in June 2007 and suggests potential next steps for further investigation.   Information Report on the Career Technical Education (CTE) Advisory Panel √  Listen 3G This item is the first in a series of items focusing on Career Technical Education (CTE). The item reports on SB 52 (Chap 520 Stats 2007) signed by the Governor on October 12, 2007. This item also describes the current CTE credential structure, the current policy initiatives related to CTE, and the initial recommendations from the CTE Advisory Panel.   Information Proposed Requirement for Pre-Service Preparation for All Teaching Internship Programs √  Listen 3H This item would propose to amend Commission policy to require all interns complete foundational preparation before an Intern Credential is issued.
