Proposal to Release a Competitive Grant Process for Local Assistance Teacher Development Programs [PDF]

This agenda item presents an overview of the Commission's role in administering the Alternative Certification (Intern) and California School Paraprofessional Teacher Training Program (PTTP) grants that support local programs that assist interns and paraprofessional's pursuing a teaching credential. The item presents for consideration, a Competitive Grant Process that would enable the Commission to fund new Intern and PTTP programs for the 2006-07 fiscal year should funds be appropriated for that purpose in the annual budget act.

Proposed Amendments to the Contract for the Administration of the Bilingual Crosscultural, Language and Academic Development (BCLAD) Examinations [PDF]

Staff is requesting permission to amend the current BCLAD contract for one fiscal year. This enables staff to keep the exam program stable for candidates in the Fiscal Year 2006-07, by offering the same administration cycle as in the previous year. In addition, staff needs to wait for the outcome of the policy discussion of the recently Commission convened BCLAD panel.
