Persons wishing to address the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing on a subject to be considered at this meeting are asked to complete a Request Card and give it to the Recording Secretary prior to the discussion of the item. Thursday February 5, 2004 10:00 a.m. Appeals and Waivers Committee Os-Maun Rasul, Committee Chair Beth Hauk Leslie Littman Sara Lundquist Alberto Vaca Action Approval of the Minutes 1A Staff will recommend that the Committee approve the minutes of the January 2004 meeting of the Appeals and Waivers Committee. After review, the Committee may approve, or amend and approve the minutes.   Action Waivers: Consent Calendar 1B These waiver requests have been reviewed by staff and meet the criteria adopted by the Commission.   Action Waivers: Conditions Calendar 1C These waiver requests have been reviewed by staff on the basis of criteria adopted by the Commission and special conditions for subsequent waivers are included.   Action Waivers: Denial Calendar 1D These waiver requests do not meet the criteria for inclusion on a consent calendar and will be considered on an individual basis.   General Session 10:15 a.m The Commission will immediately convene into Closed Session. The Commission will meet in Closed Session pursuant to California Government Code Section 11126 as well as California Education Code Sections 44245 and 44248. The Commission will report out of Closed Session appropriately concerning any and all action taken or determinations made therein. After review, the Commission may approve, or amend and approve the Consent Calendar.   Information Chair's Report 2D Information Executive Director's Report 2E Legislative Committee of the Whole Beth Hauk, Committee Chair Action/Information Status of Legislation of Interest to the Commission [PDF] 3A Staff will present the status of legislative measures that have a position adopted by the Commission.   Action/Information Analyses of Bills of Interest to the Commission [PDF] 3B Staff will present analyses of educator preparation or licensing bills introduced by legislators. The analyses will summarize current law, describe the bill's provisions, estimate its costs, recommend amendments if applicable, and propose a recommendation. The Commission will be asked to take a position on the measures. Positions for the Commission to consider are: Sponsor, Support, Support if Amended, Approve, Approve if Amended, Seek Amendments, Watch, Disapprove, Oppose Unless Amended, and Oppose.
